
Jill is a highly qualified and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She embarked on her journey into the field of mental health with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Elon University in 2003. Her exceptional dedication and academic excellence led her to graduate Cum Laude, and she was proudly recognized as the Psychology Student of the Year in 2003.
Following her undergraduate achievements, Jill continued her pursuit of knowledge and empathy by obtaining a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College in 2005. Since achieving her professional licensure in June 2008, Jill has honed her expertise and gained invaluable experience across a diverse range of settings. With over 18 years of hands-on experience, she has worked in outpatient settings, schools, DCF contracted group homes, and spent nearly 14 years as an adjustment counselor in a school environment. Working in a school environment allowed Jill to support a diverse population of students, colleagues and parents and to constantly adapt to a fast paced and ever changing environment.
Jill brings her deep well of wisdom and her naturally approachable, genuine, and kind demeanor to every counseling session. She understands that taking the first steps towards counseling can be a challenging endeavor. As a practitioner who values the therapeutic relationship, Jill is committed to creating a safe and nurturing space where you can feel comfortable and truly heard.
Jill employs a collaborative approach, working hand-in-hand with her clients through their unique treatment journeys. She offers a variety of therapeutic modalities to suit individual needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Client-Centered approaches, Positive Psychology, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her eclectic approach ensures that she tailors the treatment to each client's specific need and concern.
